Matt McGrath
Counselor - Bass
Matt McGrath is a graduate of Columbia College Chicago, with a focus on Modern Music. His main instruments are bass, vocals, and keys. He has played bass for over ten years, including playing for Bay Youth and Portland Youth Symphony Orchestras. In addition to classical music, he has also played a wide variety of genres. His repertoire includes rock, jazz, bluegrass, choral, and Latin music. He is currently working with his collegiate jazz band and is writing, producing, and performing his own music in the group “Height Difference” who released their first EP Summer 2021.
In his spare time, you will find Matt cooking, kayaking, and critiquing bad movies. Matt was a SMSC camper for four years (2016-2019) before graduating high school. He holds fond memories of his time here and looks forward to being a counselor this year.
