Theo Dean-Slobod

Theo Dean-Slobod is a Junior at Smith College who has been playing violin since she was 6. She has been attending private lessons in violin performance for the past 14 years, with supplemental learning experiences from summer programs such as the New York Summer Music Festival, Les Domaine Forget, and Southern Maine String Camp. Theo was a soloist and concert master with the New England Suzuki Institute Teen Ensemble (2016) as well as principle second and concert master for the Smith College Orchestra (2017). In addition, Theo was a member of the Portland Youth Symphony Orchestra throughout high school and her passion for arranging and supporting musical communities has continued as treasurer for the Smith College Orchestra (2017-2019), and as business manager for her A Capella group, the Noteables (2018-present). Theo has performed in the Smith College Commencement Orchestra, the Diriga Quartet, and was invited to perform with the opera group, Panopera, as a member of their string ensemble during their performance of La Traviata (2018). Theo has worked for SMSC since 2019.
